Firas Ajam, MD

Dr. Firas Ajam is specialized in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology who recently relocated to Monterey and is proud to join the team at Golden State Heart & Vascular. Dr. Ajam brings a diverse and accomplished background in cardiovascular care, with a special focus on heart rhythm disorders. He completed his medical degree at the University of Basrah, Iraq, followed by internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in New Jersey. Then he pursued advanced fellowship training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Massachusetts, where he gained extensive experience in managing complex arrhythmias, performing catheter ablations, and implanting cardiac devices including pacemakers and defibrillators.

Dr. Ajam has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and case reports in the field of cardiology and electrophysiology. He is an active member of the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS), American College of Cardiology (ACC), and the American Heart Association (AHA). His academic passion is matched by his dedication to delivering personalized, compassionate care to every patient. Now settled in Monterey with his family, Dr. Ajam is excited to serve the Central Coast community.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with family, exploring the outdoors, biking, and taking in the natural beauty of the California coast.
