Dr. Rafael is a cardiologist and electrophysiologist (cardiac arrhythmia specialist). He is trained in advanced catheter ablation techniques and the implantation of cardiac devices. He is experienced in implanting the WATCHMAN device for LAAC closure and was the first doctor in San Jose to implant the leadless pacemaker. Dr. Rafael is the Medical Director of the EP Lab at UCSF Health St. Mary’s Hospital. After earning his medical degree from the Tel Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine in Israel, Dr. Rafael did his internship and residency at Beth Israel Medical Center. He obtained his Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was trained in electrophysiology.
In addition to English, Dr. Rafael speaks Spanish and Hebrew.
